UAF ˮƵ Day 2025 starts at noon on March 25 and runs for 49 hours through 1 p.m. on March 27.

UAF will host the “Look for Nook” challenge March 18-21 to build excitement for this year’s event. Participants can search for stuffed polar bears in baskets hidden around UAF’s campuses. Clues will be posted on the UAF Alumni Association’s Facebook and Instagram channels. Those who find a bear can choose their favorite ˮƵ Day fund for an extra $250 gift donated by the UAF Alumni Association. They also get to keep the bear.

This year, UAF’s top ˮƵ Day fundraising priority is the Troth Yeddha’ Indigenous Studies Center initiative. Thanks to Chugach Alaska, there will be a $50,000 gift to the project if 100 people make a donation during ˮƵ Day. Chancellor Dan White is offering an additional $5,000 if 50 people make a gift to the project on Day 1 of ˮƵ Day.

Participants can celebrate the variety of programs that make UAF great by:

  • Joining challenges that can expand the impact of each gift. Donations of all sizes are welcome.
  • to maximize support for UAF and enter to win prizes.
  • Following along on social media posts and sharing their reason to give with the hashtag #49HoursForAlaska.

UA ˮƵ Day is a collaborative effort between the University of Alaska Foundation and Alaska’s three universities. It is an opportunity to encourage the university communities to come together in a show of support for the University of Alaska.

The will track overall dollars and donors generated during UA ˮƵ Day, as well as gifts to schools and colleges, programs and designated funds. The site will feature public social media posts that use the hashtag #49HoursForAlaska.
